By AIC Artist R. Thomas
Inspiration for this piece? What is the magical bond between the relationship of a mother and daughters love? To me there is a definite difference in their bond, different than the bond with a father. No less love, mind you, but that invisible cord has a vast all-encompassing love that is felt over time and space. Whether animal or human, God in his great wisdom, planted a special gift in the bonds of this relationship.
I tried to capture the essence of that relationship in both the expression and the closeness of the doe and the fawn. I used pen and ink strokes to show the flowing of life throughout the picture. I hope the feeling I tried to express in this picture is also considered by you, the viewer.
(Notes from Dale)
Once again, one of our most dedicated artist shows us art skills and life skills. He has been a contributor to the SRCI art group for many years AND has developed a deep connection with two of the Otino Waa students, Sarah and Hilda. Recently, we brought his video greeting to those young women and obtained a response from both. I wish you could have seen the deep emotions on both sides of the world. Just observing this brought on moist eyes.
And your part? You could be one of those who match the $5/mo. sponsorship. A silent partner who is greatly appreciated by the AIC sponsors. OR – maybe encourage the artists with contributions towards art supplies. What you see here is made possible by those who agree with the purposes!
