(Luke 23:18-25)
By Anonymous AIC
There is a story that I must tell,
for I was a prisoner in a death row cell.
I was a convict condemned to die,
Rightly judged and guilty was I.
When suddenly I heard a loud commotion,
Rising to a crescendo of zealous emotion.
The crowd outside, they shouted my name,
“Give us Barabbas! Let Jesus remain!
Crucify Jesus! Let Barabbas go free!
He loosened my chains and set me free.
I went with the others to Calvary.
Follow this man, for I had to see,
This one who would die instead of me.
Long did I stare at this innocent face,
Then I understood the meaning of grace.
That was long ago, but I’ll never forget,
This Jesus who died to pay my debt.
Now, I’m no longer a prisoner of sin.
When the world walked out – Jesus walked in.
So, who is Barabbas? I thought you knew.
He’s every sinner. He’s me, He’s you.
I pray you may realize this too,
He also died to pardon you.
Believe and receive a life anew,
And knowing this, what will you do?
His arms outstretched to welcome you.

Such a beautiful poem! Loved it. ❤️❤️
