Hope Shows Up in the Mail

by Dale Russell

In almost every ministry there are details that tend to communicate a message to people about their importance and/or how much they should value what’s happening. Lack of attention to details could lead to a negative impression.

While details are important, so is the big picture. When it comes to excellence, God expects you and I to do the best with what we have and to work within the means and abilities He has provided for us. In the case of Visions of Hope, He has provided the means for two, totally unrelated cultures, to form an historic relationship.

Recently, I ran across some video files from 2022 that we had not treated with the value they deserved. Hopefully, it gives a quick glimpse of many things that cross our desks in our home office. The clips (now a short video) easily demonstrate that the ones who most shape the world are those who are not exposed, who aren’t seen. Our AIC (Adults in Custody) are usually unknown, opaque beings about whom almost no one knows anything. African orphans are sometimes thought of in the same manner. Out of sight – out of mind. Hopefully, this short glimpse opens that mysterious door a bit wider.

In case you were not aware – there are hundreds of AIC who are either sponsors of the Otino Waa Children’s Village, Uganda or part of our art program. The customized sponsorship program is $5/mo. and those funds are then matched by an outside donor.

The art groups (5) continually generate creations and are supported by Visions of Hope with an art supply budget of $750/yr. (ea. group).
