Polar Bear in graphite

The Polar Bear

by AIC  J. Gibbs

As I drew this, I found multiple things coming to mind. I just had a regular bear in mind at first, but then it became a polar bear. What really took me by surprise was that it immediately reminded me of the joke I once heard.

A hunter, walking along, stumbles upon a bear. As the bear rears up and is about to attack, the hunter yells, “Lord, please give this bear understanding of what it’s about to do.”

Suddenly a shaft of heavenly light comes upon the bear. And it says to the hunter with paws pressed together……… “Thank you Lord, for the meal I’m about to receive.”

It is easy to forget those in prison. “Outa sight, outa mind”. Perhaps a bit of humor will make any of them a bit more human. To visit them brings this on even stronger. Perhaps it’s time to consider going with us to meet these men and women? It could change you in so many ways!
