An inmate artist is someone who uses bravery, insight, creativity, and then boldly takes it to the rest of the world.
Artists are resilient in a prison, even if they had to paint pictures on the dusty floor of a cell.
AIC artists care when the world doesn’t, because they understand the long wait to be rescued, and no one shows up. But then it changes as they have see God rescue them so many times, AND become self-taught in the art of compassion for those Otino Waa kids.
Prison can beat down the soul, but then art reminds you that you have one.
