Represents a Promise Kept

Represents a Promise Kept

Your assignment – should you choose to accept it, is to quickly identify what you are looking at. Don’t cheat or move too quickly. The reveal will be just as amazing as these various parts.

For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.

Romans 8:28

God, it seems you’ve been our home forever;
    long before the mountains were born,
Long before you brought earth itself to birth,
    from “once upon a time” to “kingdom come”—you are God.

Psalm 90:2

Without good direction, people lose their way;
    the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances
.

Proverbs 11:14

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps

Proverbs 16:9

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.

Ephesians 3:20

A slack hand causes poverty,
    but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Proverbs 10:4

Let’s continue building this story. Search out every piece of prison trash that compliments your vision. All discarded paper and light card stock are the targets. Collaborate with the artists in the existing group for some paint and a couple of computer printouts. Create your own recipie for glue from cafeteria “borrows”. Be sure the Corrections Officers are aware of why you have all this stuff (well, at lease most of it) and the purpose behind it, and DO NOT break any other rules for fear of confiscation.

There are so many occasions for us to observe the talents of our AIC artists. Like those, “Oh wow” moments when your gaze is immoveable. The next thought is, “how did he do it?” We have said that many times.

Artist skills are abilities someone learns in order to create something unique. In this case, this creation was the culmination of much smaller transportation items we have been blessed with over the years. This big rig demands attention. It stands 9” tall and 35” long, and took six months to complete.

No natural talent alone guarantees success, there has to be an interest in it to begin with, then persistence, discipline and hard work. There’s much back story to all the creations of this AIC artist. If you look carefully at the trailer the Otino Waa kids stand out.

Taking a close look at the sun visor of the cab you will see “Jennifer”.  That’s in memory of our adult daughter who passed away three years ago.

There must be a careful consideration of our definitions of prison and AIC. Would what you see here be enough to change your own mind, or maybe you need to show this to someone who might have a negative mindset towards inmates? Perhaps this inspires you to help fund art supplies for our dedicated AIC artists?

(If so…GO HERE)

Whatever may come of this – please do not ignore any promptings from the Lord!

Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives.

Galatians 5:25

Many thanks, from Visions of Hope

  2. Wow! What a gift and how much effort went into making it especially for you. So talented and willing to share their talent to bless others. Thank you for all you do for the AIC and for the orphans in Africa!
