The voluntary, joyful, and sacrificial giving of time, talent, or treasure, modeled on God’s abundant grace rather than obligation.
It is viewed as an act of worship, a reflection of God’s character, and a means to bless others.
“Give to others, and you will receive. You will be given much. It will be poured into your hands—more than you can hold. You will be given so much that it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you.”
Luke 6:38
True generosity involves giving without expecting return, lifting others up, and finding that sharing brings more joy than owning.
“The most truly generous persons are those who give silently without hope of praise or reward.” C. Brink
Noticed lately how your world is crowded with troubling headlines? It’s much like you must brace yourself for what shows up in the AM. Let’s find a refreshing change that rises above this and exchanges this mindset into a “generous eye,” seeing opportunities to help that are much more valuable.
Generosity rises like a quiet, refreshing current—steady, life-giving, and often unseen. It shows up in the small, faithful acts: a listening ear, a sacrifice made without recognition. These moments remind us that goodness is not extinguished by the daily dose of news; it presses through it.
Generosity softens hard places, restores dignity, and reconnects what feels fractured, revealing that even in uncertain times, the human spirit is still capable of compassion, hope, and selfless love.
Recently, a dear family asked us if we could use some lovingly cared for baby blankets. Normally, this would seem more appropriate for Goodwill or Teen Challenge, but we gave an immediate yes!, as we quickly thought of many needy young ones in Uganda.
The message from the mom was this; “I’m really proud of the kids. This was a tough assignment, especially for brother, who for some reason had twice as many blankets as his sisters. They paired it down to a few each. Will send you 24 blankets to share with those in need in Uganda. The kids asked if we could pray over the blankets, the babies receiving them, and those ministering to their needs. One of them led off with a beautiful prayer, followed by another one. It was such a beautiful moment.”

Visions of Hope has a strong relationship in Uganda with Lira Babies Home and Journey International, where little ones such as Kenneth can have a better life, enhanced by the above generosity. Picture him with a blanket, knowing the senders realize one’s possessions are not owned, but entrusted to be used for a greater purpose.

A regular routine is to search the culvert in front of Lira Babies Home to see if any babies were left there overnight. Emagine a blanket as a treasured companion for a young orphan.
Generosity can easily be seen in the unexpected relationship between Adults in Custody (AIC) and Ugandan orphans—two worlds that might seem defined by lack, yet overflow with giving.
From within prison walls, men who have little to offer by the world’s standards choose to create, to give, and to invest in the lives of children they may never meet. Their generosity carries more than provision; it carries dignity, connection, and hope. And in return, those children receive not only support, but the powerful reminder that they are seen and valued.
With those AIC who choose to sponsor a student at Otino Waa Children’s Village, ($5/mo.) the generosity becomes something deeper than charity—it becomes transformation, proving that even in the most unlikely places, compassion can bridge distance, restore purpose, and reveal the enduring strength of selfless love.

AND also from within prison walls……..

…..inmate artists take what little they have—limited materials, confined space, and their own hard-earned stories—and transform it into something meaningful. With each brushstroke, sketch, and creation, they offer not just art, but a piece of themselves. Their work becomes generosity in motion—time surrendered, talent refined, and purpose rediscovered—all given to benefit children they may never meet.
What they create carries more than beauty; it carries redemption, sacrifice, and hope. Their art becomes a bridge, turning confinement into connection and hardship into healing. And as Ugandan orphans receive the fruit of that generosity, they are reminded that they are seen, valued, and deeply cared for.
Since 2009 AIC sponsors, artists and general donors have contributed over;
$260,025.000
100% of this has been sent to Otino Waa. In this exchange, generosity becomes something far greater than charity—it becomes transformation on both sides, proving that even in the most unlikely places, compassion can rise, purpose can be restored, and selfless love can leave a lasting mark on the world.

God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done. As one psalmist puts it, He throws caution to the winds,
giving to the needy in reckless abandon.
His right-living, right-giving ways
never run out, never wear out.
2 Corinthians 9:8-11
