How to be Refreshed

I try as often as possible to convince others here in prison how important sponsorship is. My relationship with my Otino Waa kids is very important to me and I want to share that passion with any ear willing to listen.

Some here are only concentrating on themselves. That could mean, taking advantage of situations for selfish reasons, how to promote gossip to make themselves look better, or how leverage food or favors to get ahead. There is a lot of time and energy devoted to these things, almost always resulting in less than hoped for results. It seems there is always another challenge to overcome, another angle to try for and never a worthy purpose or peace.

For those who rise above the prison culture, I can find women who truly want to try for much more in life. Those conversations are easy when there is a real desire to find purpose in their actions and see provable results.

A common hurdle is financial. Prison salaries range from $10-80 per month. A $5 sponsorship can seem rather daunting, but I usually do some comparisons. What would $5 buy in prison?

               5 candy bars, or

               2.5 sodas, or

               3 packages of cookies, or

               2 Little Debbie boxes, or

               10 snack packs chips, or

               8 bags popcorn, or

4 cups of the best coffee

That same $5 applied to a sponsorship of an Otino Waa child gets you;

A matching (silent) partner on the outside (my $5 gets doubled).

Food, housing, clothing, health care, education and a future for a child.

A special relationship added to your own life.

A flow of letters from both sides of the world.

Updates from Visions of Hope about Otino Waa.

An occasional video message to/from my child!

Hope added to your own life and the life of a child.

Now, which pays better dividends? God entrusts each of us with an amount of wealth to use wisely. How will you use yours?

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

Proverbs 11:25

Would you consider being that special matching partner? The dividends are given out by God Himself. GO HERE
