Positive and Never Giving Up

Life's Challenges

By H. Crow, an AIC

This quote is my motto, words I’ve recalled often,

Winston Churchill is a model, a man not forgotten.

Making no excuses for mindsets I choose,

Habits reflect how we may win or lose.

Success is going from failure to failure with enthusiasm,

Through social conflict and warfare I can only imagine.

Mistakes don’t make or break, but the same ones increase their weight,

I’ve been on replay a time or two, and feel like we relate.

The pound of flesh we gave, a mess can make it hard to stand up after,

But we can bless within a breath when we hold on to our laughter.

Even when loss is imminent and part of me has had enough,

I will never, ever give up, embracing my God who’s ever tough.

Behind the eyes lies a mental giant and its fear,

The victory is felt when we face it and make it clear.

Now struggle ascends into triumph, only when we’ve grown from it.

So determined one must be to comprehend and seize their moment.

Choosing challenges as an opportunity to exercise our weakness,

Driven to overcome while life exists and time is ceaseless.

Learning how to be content and rise above each day,

I’ve held onto a tremendous hope I can only hold and display.

Gratitude defeats depression, gives guidance and direction,

Rejoice and commit a moment to prayer and introspection.

Agree in mind and conscious to act upon our prompts in valor.

A joyful spirit acts in armor, and it’s hard won at any hour.

There’s truth in the fact we will be confronted with failure,

It’s not the end of who will be, much bigger is the picture.

Winston Churchill provided me an insight of encouragement,

Like faith placed in scripture, this holds my endorsement.

No matter how wide or high, steep or deep chasm,

Success is going from failure to failure, within enthusiasm.
